Personal experiences aside this constant and varied communication comes with it's own avantages and disadvantages in the classroom. How do we engage students who are more concerned with sending selfies to their friends and reading Beyonce's latest tweets. Where does integrating technology, specifically online communication technologies, take away from the lesson and when does it contribute? Blogging I think in theory is a great way to have students explore their own beliefs and ideas and to represent their learning, but I think there are a lot of walls preventing it from being a truly authentic expeirence. Their are issues with FOIP and with asking minor to share online content. There are concerns from administration and parents about privacy and concerns from students about being judged by their peers and strangers alike. I don't know if blogging is something that every student is able to do in a way that is a true representation of themselves and thier learning and because of this I have my reservations about using it in a classroom.
